If anything can get Blake Lively to leave Ryan Reynolds at home with the kids, it’s a night out with Beyoncé and Taylor Swift.
On November 30, Lively and Swift attended the London premiere of Queen Bey’s Renaissance concert film, and it looks like they may have planted some subliminal messages about Swift’s next rerecording. We’ve already covered the pop star’s silver gown, but Lively’s red-carpet look also feels extremely Reputation-coded.
For starters, the 36-year-old actor rarely wears black, and there’s only a smattering of glitzy Renaissance silver trimming on her midriff-baring Chanel cardigan. Not to mention that she wore a cardigan to begin with. If this is not a sartorial Easter egg from one of Swift’s closest friends, then I don’t what is.
Lively paired her open top with a tweed miniskirt, sheer gloves, and platform Louboutin pumps, keeping her honey-blonde hair down in loose beachy waves. In some images, you can see that the Gossip Girl star topped off her look with a matching black coat.
“I left the house,” she captioned a details shot on her Instagram story.
Of course, it’s entirely possible that Lively’s look has nothing to do with Reputation, but Swift’s leaves very little room for doubt. While the pop star fully embraced at the event, the Balmain dress, makeup, and hair felt particularly inspired by her own “Look What You Made Me Do” music video, which seems like just another clue that Reputation (Taylor’s Version) is imminent. I mean, even her diamond earring looks a heck of a lot like a snake!
On December 1, Swift shared a series of photos from the Renaissance London premiere, including a photo with Beyoncé and one with Lively. “Got invited to London by The Queen…✨👑✨,” Swift captioned the pics. “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé is in theaters now!!”
You just know this was a night to remember.
