“Dondup is not a brand known for treading the beaten path, or the easiest one,” said Dondup’s CEO Matteo Anchisi. “This is Antwerp: a city where we can compete with all the world’s top labels, trying to win over a discerning public with a history of appreciating designer culture and iconic products. We are keen to prove our worth here,” he added.
The new store occupies an entire building, and its interior design features an industrial vibe accented by Italian-style details, with materials like wood, steel and concrete. A large glass cabinet will showcase semi-permanent in-store installations, and is defined in the press release as “a storytelling space that goes beyond products, exploring the company’s philosophy and know-how.”
Dondup was founded in 1999, and in 2021 it generated a consolidated revenue of €57.5 million, up 16% over the previous year, and an EBITDA margin of 27.6%.
“I’m truly satisfied with the work we are doing on this label together with Matteo Anchisi,” said Mauro Grange, CEO of Fine Sun. “Dondup’s exports are currently worth 35% of total revenue. Germany and northern Europe are among the regions that are responding most satisfactorily, so I’m sure that Belgium too will be able to live up to its great potential,” he added.
