**Google News Showcase Expands Globally to More Than 2,000 Publications**
October 27, 2022
Today, we’re announcing that Google News Showcase has expanded to more than 2,000 publications globally, with more than 1,000 added in the past year. These partnerships give news organizations the opportunity to create and curate high-quality content panels that appear in a dedicated space on Google News and Discover.
Google News Showcase, which launched in 2020, allows us to partner with publishers to pay for and highlight credible journalism from around the world. This collaboration supports publishers and helps us to provide users with access to a diversity of perspectives and information.
**Reaching New Audiences**
News Showcase’s unique, visually rich format has helped our partners reach new audiences. In the past year, people have engaged with more than 24 billion stories through News Showcase panels globally.
**Supporting Journalism**
The program is designed to support journalism and the news organizations that produce it. We pay publishers for their content, and we work closely with them to develop new features and tools that help them succeed.
**Growing Globally**
Over the past year, we’ve expanded News Showcase to 12 new countries, bringing the total to 18 markets around the world. We’re also working to add more languages, including Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Portuguese.
**Looking Ahead**
We’re excited to continue growing News Showcase and working with publishers to support journalism and provide users with access to high-quality, credible information.
