The Morning Show star Reese Witherspoon arrived at the Emmys in an avant-garde look that has fashion fans divided. Ha! Of course she didn’t. America’s Sweetheart wore, as usual, a flattering and glamorous gown. Witherspoon’s a petite powerhouse who doesn’t stray from her signature look, and we love her for it.
Nominated in the lead actress in a drama series category for her role as fiery anchor Bradley Jackson on the Apple+ show about daytime news hosts, Witherspoon wore a strapless Armani Privé grown bedecked in sapphire sequins.
The Morning Show also stars Jennifer Aniston, but this isn’t the first time the pair have shared the screen; Witherspoon played one of Rachel Green’s sisters in a handful of Friends episodes, and they are, in real life, friends. “It’s somebody’s birthday today 🥳 My little sister 👉🏼 co-anchor 👉🏼 partner in crime 🥂 I LOVE YOU, you sweet ray of sunshine. Let the love pour in! ❤️ Happy BIRTHDAY @reesewitherspoon 🥰🎂,” Aniston wrote on Instagram on her pal’s most recent birthday. No doubt she’s cheering her on tonight.

Now as much a producer as she is an actor, Witherspoon recently brought Delia Owens’s Where the Crawdads Sing to life in a feature adaptation starring Daisy Edgar-Jones, despite some interesting controversies about the author. Witherspoon’s company, Hello Sunshine, and its book club arm have been responsible for some of the biggest hits of recent years, like Big Little Lies and Little Fires Everywhere. At the Glamour, Witherspoon spoke passionately about why she decided to produce her own projects for herself and other leading ladies.
After realizing that the major studios weren’t developing movies with female leads—and had no intention of changing that any time soon—Witherspoon said, “It was time to turn to myself and say, ‘Okay, Reese, what are we going to do now?’ The answer was very clear. My mother, who is here tonight, a very strong, smart Southern woman, said to me, ‘If you want something done, honey, do it yourself.’ So I started my own production company…with the mission to tell stories about women.” Clearly, the move has paid off!
