During Selena Gomez’s Saturday Night Live opening monologue, the first-time host declared that she’s “manifesting love.” Her after-party dress certainly couldn’t hurt.
Following her hosting duties on May 14, Gomez attended the celebration in a strapless black Michael Stewart dress with a thigh-high slit, which she kept closed with one hand in multiple photographs. Despite any wardrobe malfunction concerns, Gomez was all smiles with a lovely peachy lip and her wavy long bob framing her face. She matched her dress with an inky black manicure and topped the whole ensemble off with a pair of sequined silver mules.
According to , Selena Gomez was joined at the after-party by SNL musical guest Post Malone and her longtime friend and on-screen love interest, Cara Delevingne. However, we can’t help but wonder how things went for SNL cast member Punkie Johnson, who propositioned the star during her opening monologue.
“One reason I’m really excited to host SNL is because I’m single,” Gomez joked at the top of the show. “And I’ve heard that SNL is a great place to find romance. Emma Stone met her husband here, Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost, and Pete and…Machine Gun Kelly.”
She continued, “Since I don’t really want to try the dating apps, I just want to put it out in the universe that I’m manifesting love. I would like to say that I’m looking for my soulmate, but at this point, I will take anyone.”
What followed were a series of volunteers, with varying degrees of success. To Kyle Mooney, Gomez simply said, “No. No. No. No,” while James Austin Johnson was let down a little more gently. However, Gomez did not immediately shoot down comedian Punkie Johnson. “You know, I’m so sorry. These men out here harassing you,” Johnson said to Gomez. “It’s just unacceptable, boo. You’re just out here doing your job. Damn. But…you know…I’ll do it.”
Gomez replied, “Honestly, it’s kind of a vibe. But let’s see how the after-party goes.”
