Duchess Meghan Markle was photographed boarding a flight to Germany to join her husband (Prince Harry) at the Invictus Games in Dusseldorf on September 11, and she looked, frankly, unreasonably elegant.
In the photos, published in , the people’s duchess wore a pair of dark wide-legged trousers with a cropped navy blue V-neck pullover sweater. She added a pair of flat cream-colored mules and carried a straw fedora along with her practical basketweave tote bag decorated with a silk scarf and stuffed with a binder and other business-y things, I assume. Meghan wore her hair in a simple low ponytail and kept her jewelry minimal.
The overall look was Hepburn-esque (both Katharine and Audrey apply) understated elegance. A direct flight from Los Angeles to Dusseldorf averages around 15 hours—yes, I checked—so I have to assume the duchess also has a pair of cashmere leggings or something in that tote bag of hers.
Meghan Markle is arriving at the annual Invictus Games a few days after their start on September 9, while Prince Harry has been attending events solo in the meantime. While he’s been gone, his wife has been seen at the drive-through window at In-N-Out, so maybe there’s also a burger or two tucked into that ludicrously capacious bag. But I doubt it.
