Olivier Germain has been appointed managing director of Parisian label Claudie Pierlot as of November 2 2022 – Claudie Pierlot

Germain replaces Jean-Baptiste Dacquin, who had been Claudie Pierlot’s managing director since April 2019, and who left the post a few months ago.

Germain is a key appointment, and marks the beginning of a new chapter for the label, which SMCP acquired in 2009. “I am delighted to join the SMCP group and Claudie Pierlot at a pivotal moment in its history,” said Germain in a press release. “The 40th anniversary of the brand in 2024 will be an opportunity to accelerate its development by bringing together key elements and the values bequeathed by its founder,” he added.

In previous merchandising and marketing roles, Germain, who also has a master’s degree in modern literature, had worked at labels like Tom FordDiorAlexander McQueen

“Over the course of his career in fashion, Olivier has acquired a unique expertise in this industry, a strategic vision and leadership which are major assets for Claudie Pierlot’s expansion,” said Isabelle Guichot, CEO of the SMCP group, which is present in 45 countries through its network of 1,600 stores.

In Q3 2022, sales for the SMCP group increased by 9.4% on an organic basis and at constant exchange rates, and by 13.5% on a reported basis, compared to the same period last year. In the quarter, SMCP recorded sales worth €308 million.
